Sad Butch Collective

A collaborative project, based around butch identity and heartbreak. What started as a response to Dolly’s spoken verse in “I Will Always Love You” turned into an Instagram meme page with 35k followers at our peak.

We created daily memes, poking nuanced fun at things like tenderness, therapy, and the complexity of being a “good” butch.

We sold 2,000 paper zines and mailed them around the world (and donated the proceeds to Heart of the Beast).

i’m not a man
(but i wanna be a good man)

A 2017 zine I made (newly on testosterone) about public perception, gender discomfort, and mid 20s growing pains. With pieces such as “a non-exhaustive list of public bathrooms i’ve been kicked out of”,all I was taught was pink camo feminism”, and “if I shave anymore, there will be nothing soft about me.”

I made 200 copies and distributed them on a sliding scale around Minneapolis.
